Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for tuning in to today's episode. Before we get into anything, you guys know the deal. Hit that like button, share, subscribe, get involved, follow us on social media. We're on all platforms, including TikTok. Gabe, how you been, man? I haven't seen you in like forever. We've been kind of going through a little um health sickness with the change of temperatures, this bipolar uh weather that we're having. But how you been, man, overall? How you been? Just checking up.

SPEAKER_00

I'm good today. Um this month's been a been a rough month for the family. But uh no. Thankfully, we're we're we're good. We got through it. Just you know, not as much sleep, you know. Yeah, I feel you, man. A lot of coughing in my house. Um, but no, we're good, we're blessed. Um again, just staying busy. A lot happening. Like we were talking about earlier. Like, you know, we we have a calendar in a home, and it's just every day, it's just it's it's filled with something, especially now. Um kids, now both my kids are are going into sports, so it's like now it's having both of them and splitting up or me going or working out schedules to fit both. So um, you know, I'm and I'm I I try to be as as hands-on and involved as I can. Um always trying to be helpful with anyone that needs help. So just you know, and then you have the church stuff and then family stuff, and then some things overlap, yeah. So you're just like you're trying to squeeze every little thing or try to plan it out perfectly that I don't lose time for anybody, you know, because that can get lost sometimes that we get so busy that someone loses in a spot, and I never want my family, my kids, or my church to feel like um um you're prioritizing what thing is. We're losing like my family is the most important thing to me, but you know, I try I try to balance everything out to a point. So um just working, man, uh you know, working to try to plan everything properly. That's all we can do.

SPEAKER_01

And you and you said something key, it's just scheduling. It's yeah, they're creating a schedule. The calendar can look crazy sometimes, but it's like, all right, this is a schedule, I gotta stick to it.

SPEAKER_00

And the kids are and the and the kids are getting since my oldest is getting better at like looking at the calendar, oh I have this, did I have this, you know what I'm saying? So he's he's he's being coming a lot more helpful in in that aspect. Um, because me and my wife also we we have it on our phone, our phone calendar as well, and then we have an actual calendar on our wall that we can see because we want to make sure we don't forget nothing, and even at that, yeah, sometimes that happens.

SPEAKER_01

We're supposed to be.

SPEAKER_00

You booked this. We we had some. I was like, oh man, I didn't check. But no, no, we've been we've been good, man. I've been I've been uh I can't complain, been blessed. I mean, even with the rough couple weeks we've been we've been blessed. I can't complain about it.

SPEAKER_01

That's cool, man. Same here, man. It just I don't know what's wrong with this weather. I was couple. A couple days out, and then it I'm coming from Florida, and the day I came back from Florida, it was like those two days, and it's like nice and it's like 70 degrees, and then one day, you know, I'm getting dressed to go to work, and my wife looked at me and it's like, Why are you putting on a hoodie? And I'm like, it's 60 degrees now, but you know, at like four o'clock when we get out of work, it's gonna be in the 30s, like, what? I'm like, yeah, and it's gonna snow. So, anyways, getting over that, um, just you know, with church and and and everything in between church, work, and trying to stay healthy, it gets it gets a little crazy. Um, I had the uh the privilege of going to see uh Joshua, the um the uh play of Joshua at sight and sound, which if you guys haven't gone, if you're in the PA jersey, this is not a promotional thing. But if you're you live in even in New York, New York, PA I do a really flat out New Jersey, go check out in Lancaster, Sight and Sound. You can literally watch anything that they're showing at any given point. And it they just find a way to you kind of leave their like I want to read the story again. I um it it it it gives you like the sense of motivation and the story of Joshua was it it was a 10 out of 10 between between the acting, the um, you know, I said this before the camera, it's like how are they gonna do that? And the whole time you're thinking, how are they gonna do that? How are they gonna do that?

SPEAKER_00

Oh they get you every time then.

SPEAKER_01

So um, which this is um essentially uh it's gonna lead to our our topic. Um in in in regards to the story of Joshua, um, one of the most impactful things which I was thinking, how are they gonna show the walls of Jericho, the walls of Jericho, how are they gonna show that come down? And they did an exceptional job. And it led me to to think in in my life, because you know, this is also something that they have to add dialogue that maybe sometimes is not in scriptures, but you can very well say, like, that's something that he probably would have thought of. And in in the show, it shows I'm I'm pretty sure it was Caleb. And Caleb's talking to Joshua, and he's saying, What's what strategies are we gonna have to take over Jericho? Are are we gonna are we gonna build catapults? Are we gonna shoot stuff over? Are we gonna do this? Are we gonna do that? And Joshua then replies and goes, No. Our Heavenly Father, the creator of heaven and earth, he's telling us for every day, this is what we're gonna do, for every single day, for six days straight, we're gonna circle around the city of Jericho. And on the seventh day, we're gonna circle it seven times. And of course, they have to add a little humor in there. And Caleb's like, what? Like, and even you see the perspective of the people inside the city of Jericho, saying like, these people are crazy. All they're doing is walking around. Don't pay them any mind. Don't pay them any mind. But it just it just led to that thought in my mind. It's like sometimes when we have, you know, our modern day walls of Jericho, um, our trials, our tribulations, you know, with everything that we go through, it's like, how do we how do we approach those walls in our lives? And I just found it incredible that even though it sounded maybe to them like, what we're not gonna attack them, we're not gonna go on the offense, we're not gonna do this, it's like, no, we're gonna be obedient to Yahweh. And he got us through, they saw all everything that that that you know they saw through the Exodus, through Moses, even through a little bit of Joshua. And at that point, Joshua so Joshua's so confident, it's like, no, we're gonna obey what Yahweh told us to do, and we're gonna circle the city of Jericho, and we're gonna do exactly. And it's so impactful, dude. I got goosebumps that they show from the inside of the walls of Jericho, and you hear it, it was it was powerful but eerie at the same time that you're inside the walls of Jericho and you just hear the marching, the footsteps. And you're just sitting there like it's only a matter of time. And then you just hear the loudest roar of the show, the shofars, and the people just screaming and and praising and worshiping Yahweh, and they just so have I have everything just shaking, and it's like, wow, they didn't even have to touch one of those bricks. Yahweh made those walls come down. And it was such a moment for me of of just it's just an eye-opening moment. It's like, wow, in our moments in life where you're confronted with something like that, it's like do I just sit there and I praise and worship and just let Yahweh handle it? Even though in your mind you're like, man, but I I I know I can I but if I do this, but I do, and we start to overthink, and it's like, what if we just left it in Yahweh's hands? What if we just obeyed him? You know, what if we let him go before us to fight that battle? If he did it with the walls of Jericho, he could do it in our lives, in our current lives, right? And I just found that super impactful, man.

SPEAKER_00

Like, but I think that that's the challenge we also face in life, you know. Uh you speaking, the thing that kept to my head was like in sports, one of the biggest phrases we hear is like defense wins championships. The defense, yeah. Yeah, we hear that. But then if you go to a lot of these young kids or or these youth in the nowadays, nobody wants to play defense. Defense is boring. That's not the cool thing, right? The cool thing is scoring the offense. It's like you said, going on the attack, going forward, right? And then sometimes in life, the hardest part sometimes is is waiting to hear, like you said, the game plan, the strategy. What do we need to do? The same reason there's coaches, because you go, these, these all these guys at play are are very smart guys, their IQ's high. They this is their life, this is their livelihood, right? They have to learn this in and out. So why you why they need coaches for, right? And sometimes you could be the greatest player, but what you're still listening to who? Your coach, because your coach is what getting everything together, getting the game plan, saying, Hey, there's the next play, this where we're gonna play defense, hey, this these are the people that are gonna be playing, we're subbing, right? They're making all these things, the same with our Heavenly Father in our lives. He he wants to set everything up, he wants to set the play up, he wants to set all this stuff, but sometimes we're so concentrating on going forward, on what's the next move. I want to go, I want to move, I can't sit still, I can't wait, I have no patience for that. That we continuously fail in life, and then we try to put the blame on him. It's like, oh you know, but all he's telling you is like, let me set it up.

SPEAKER_01

Surrender it, right?

SPEAKER_00

Like Joshua, like, you know, when he had that conversation with Caleb, like you said, you know, Caleb was once he wants to go. We have to move, we have to attack, we have to conquer, we have to overcome. And and and Joshua's just mad chill, just like listen, hold up, he got it, right? Like, hold up. Like, we have to sometimes understand who's with us, right? Sometimes we we we talk about it like it's nothing, and we fail to understand that, like you said, we have the creator of the universe on our team, the one who has all the answers is on our team. So, why is it so difficult for us sometimes to wait on his game plan? Yeah, like as humans, that's the hardest challenge that you know that we've all faced in life is like we feel we're making the right move, we feel we're moving forward, we feel this, and he goes, Hold up, that's not what I have for you. What are you talking about? I I got it, I figured it out. I see the path, I see this, I see this. Everything's falling into place. He goes, That's not what I have for you. And what do we do there? Right? Do we listen the way Joshua listened? Because Joshua easily could have been like, you know what, Caleb, you're right. Let's move, let's go forward, let's do this. And what would have happened? They would have lost, they would have been defeated. But instead, Joshua understood because he saw his hand move, right, in the midst of Moses and all these things he's gone through in Egypt and all these things, right? That he was like, Hold up, let's put our trust in him, right? Let let us not not that we're putting him to the test, but let him fight it for us.

SPEAKER_01

He got us this far.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. And I think that's where it is. Even in life, it's like we let him take us to a certain spot and we go, I got it.

SPEAKER_01

I got it from here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll take care of it. He's taking us here. It's like it's like I can't I bring it to sports because I like sports and it helps me understand and put it together. It's like, you know, you have your star player, and your star player plays so well, and he gets you all the way to the championship, and then you go, You're gonna sit in the bench. What? And then you go, Well, what are we doing here, right? He he he helped, he worked hard, he got us to this point, and yeah, well, it's a team sport, but you know, and then you're gonna tell me he's not gonna be involved now. The same way life is like we allow him to do it to a certain point, okay. I'll take it from you. Let me take it because again, some of us want the glory, some of us want to go, well, I did it, I got the job promotion, I got the house, I did this, I did that, I got into the school. You know, we want to we want to pound our chest sometimes and go, yeah, well, yeah, you saw that, right? Because we want to put on on socials and go, want everyone to see what we accomplish sometimes, right? Instead of, and even even now, as crazy as last night watching the the world baseball classic, right? Yeah, and even when Venezuela won, what's the one thing that I saw I noticed? You know, when Suarez won, he could have ran all the way and started celebrating, right? What did he do? He fell right to his knees, and you could tell he was thanking his creator, right? He was giving him the glory, and even even the conversations you talk, you hear some of the players talking, he's like, no matter what happens, yeah, I give him the glory, right? And a lot of people are not gonna do that anymore. But we got to understand that even in those moments of wins, even in those moments that we accomplish a goal, we we we get to places, we can't forget who brought us there. We can't forget that at the end of the day, everything that we have, right? Everything that we have here in this world is because he's given it to us and it was created by him. And we have to understand the difference of that even when we win, he deserves the glory.

SPEAKER_01

Always. He always and and the one thing that I found interesting as well, and and this is the same in our lives, that we see a situation and we're like, well, how am I gonna get out of this? Or what am I gonna do? But in the in the case of the walls of Jericho, they didn't know this unl uh until they sent those two spies in there that they stayed in the house of or in the in the in the um abiding place of Rahab, who was a uh prostitute. But the prostitute was telling the spies, he goes, the fear of Yahweh is already in this place. These people are scared of the living God of Israel. They know who you serve and they're scared. It's crazy. They didn't know that. They were already scared. They didn't even want to go into battle. They were dependent on their walls, but the fear was already set in there. So it's it's to say that in our lives, when those moments come, it's like Yahweh's already like has the solution being worked out, but we're just saying, like, hi better, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know what's gonna happen. Like, he's already like the solution's already there. But he's just telling us, like, I got this. You don't see you don't see it yet, but but eventually you will see it. And you said something something important, even after the victory, um, after the walls of Jericho, um, as we know that Joshua's continue had to continue to fight um in different battles. And there was a battle after that, um, and the place was it's literally in the Bible, AI. And we're not talking about artificial intelligence, we're talking about AI. And Joshua took a whole bunch of guys with him and they went on their own to try to you know fight them, and then we're gonna do the same thing in scripture, they're gonna do the same thing that they did to Jericho to AI, and they go and they got rushed. And they were like, whoa, whoa, whoa. They retreated and went back. And when they went back, and you guys can link this up in the book of Joshua, um, chapter 8, is what I'm I just finished saying. But in verse 18, it says, Then Yahweh said to Joshua, okay? At no point it mentions that he spoke with the Heavenly Father nothing. Then in verse 18 it says, Then Yahweh said to Joshua, Hold out toward Ai the javelin that is in your hand, for unto your hand I will deliver the city. So Joshua held um out toward the city the javelin that was in his hand. Now this corresponds to when Okay, we're talking about another battle when Moses had to have his hands up in order for them to win. All right, in both scenarios. Moses had a staff, Joshua had a javelin. Now the question is, what do you have in your hand? Come on. What do you have in your hand? Right? In both scenarios, their hands were stretched out. Now, if you see hands stretched out like this, right, people automatically go to that's a symbol of of a victory, of worship, of of praise. However, it's also a symbol of surrender. You're surrendering something. I don't have control of this. I'm giving it to you. I'm giving it to you. Right? And the best example I can think of is a little child. When a little child gets scared, it runs to his father, his mother, raises his hand because that's where it feels comfort, that's where it knows it's secure. They know, okay, my dad's gonna take care of it. Whatever was making me uncomfortable or scared, my dad will take care of it. And it's the same thing. We go into battle, we go into our trials and tribulations, and uh, you know, just life when life hits us hard, and we go to our father. And when you brought up sports, I was thinking of another sport. But right, the in Proverbs is it also says a righteous man falls seven times, he will get back up, he will rise again. And the best, you know, comeback, and I would say in our modern time, the last 50 years, the one of the most uh uh um you can say top five when it comes to comeback stories is Rocky, right? And we're kind of a little biased because we're close affilling. But Rocky, right? Rocky Balboa, in the he would he would go into the fight and he would get beat up, he would get knocked down, and then he would go into his corner and they're giving him the pep talk, he gets that second win, comes out, and wins a fight. Now we don't just have a guy in our corner, you said it. We have the creator of heaven and earth on our corner. We have the undefeated champ, never lost a battle. Right? And we can see in these stories throughout Moses, throughout Joshua, that time in and time out, there was a battle, there was a situation, a wall, a body of water that was nothing for Yahweh. Maybe for the humans, they're like, oh, we don't know how we're gonna get through this. But for Yahweh, he made a way. He's probably saying Mayweather who? Mayweather who? I'm the way maker. So it's the same thing goes to, and again, this was uh um watching this kind of, you know, and and and scriptures are so beautiful because you can read it time in and time out, and it's one thing to see it come to life uh in a play, but it it just hits you different every single time. And for me, it was that. Like when I come across those moments, you know, I have to just surrender it. Right? When you come across those moments, just surrender it to Yahweh, right? You see, in in in this in this the example that I just mentioned, Joshua tried to do it on his own. All right, I'm gonna grab a thousand guys, come on, we're gonna do this. And they were unprepared. But when Yahweh stepped in, he goes, Listen, point out your javelin, and I will bring them you know the victory, you will have the victory through me.

SPEAKER_00

It's the obedience at the end of the day, like you said earlier. It's obedience, bro. It's it's just it's it's being willing to listen. Because again, I could tell you something and you're not here a word I say, right? It's it's being willing to listen to his voice. But then after we do that, it's now being obedient to the message he's given us. Yeah. And there's two different things. It's like those are two different, you know, lessons there. It's like I want to hear you now, right? I'm gonna allow, I want to hear your voice, and now I'm gonna be obedient to to the voice I hear at the end of the day. And again, you know, he wants the best for you. He wants the best for us. You know, he's not gonna ask something of us that's gonna put us in harm or to damage us or any of that, right? He wants to put us in places um above our pay grade at the end of the day. Let's be honest. He wants to put us in places that you right now probably going, I I can't never get there. I I can never know. You know, we have to push the boundaries in our life sometimes and go, you know what? With him, like the Bible says, all things are possible, right? If I believe, if I have faith, but if I do my part as well. This isn't just like you say, a one-way street that we're gonna go, I need you, Father, I need you, and then we sit there with our arms crossed going, hello, hello, hello, no, right? We we still have to do what we have to do in our life to get and reach these victories and goals, but we have to understand, like Joshua did, the importance of obeying. Yeah, because at any time he had the free will to go. You're the leader. You do what you gotta do, you do what you feel is best for your people. No, because every time Joshua did that, every time Moses did that, all these leaders and big men in the Bible, every time they did that, they failed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

On their own. Every time. But when what? They listened to his voice. When they listened to the game plan and they followed through with it. They didn't go, okay, I'm gonna listen to A B, but but C, we're gonna switch up. No. When they listened to the game plan and they followed through with it, you saw the victory every single time.

SPEAKER_01

And and the beauty of it, and again, going back to the play, the beauty of it all is that the fear was already in the people of Jericho. And you think about you know the interactive interaction with Joshua and Caleb, but you you think to yourself, like, in all those multitude of people, yeah, they followed Joshua as their leader, but you don't think they were just like, he wants us to do what? Absolutely. Walk around. But you know why? Because at that seventh turn, when everyone started to scream and the shofars were going off, and they started to see the walls go down, both the people that were with Joshua and the people in the city of Jericho both said they didn't do anything. The one who they serve brought the walls down. So it takes the glory away from anyone that was with Joshua. Yes. And it it it the people of Jericho acknowledged it, said it was who they serve who brought these walls down. They didn't do anything. So they even their enemy acknowledged the one that you serve is the true and living Elohim. So it's also important that, and it's gonna happen in your life. Man, I have this situation. I don't know what to do. I'm gonna pray, I'm gonna leave it in Yahweh's hands. Yahweh takes care of it, and you go, I didn't even do anything. He will take care of it. And then when other people, wow, listen, I ain't do anything. I don't take no credit. My Heavenly Father did it for me. And that's what we want to drive in this episode is just that. When you're confronted with that, leave it in his hands. Leave it. Remember, we sing he's a way maker, but when it comes time for him to make a way, you're like, No, let me let me let me try to do it. No, we have to surrender to him. You know, let those walls will come down. Right? In Yeshua's name, those walls will come down. Whatever you're going through, listen, present it unto the Heavenly Father in prayer. Amen. We hope that this is of encouragement to you guys. We we try to bring this to encourage you guys.
